Refreshing Revisions in the Jaffe Art Studio.
My mosaic portrait of Marilyn Monroe has just emerged from a bit of cosmetic rejuvenation. She has been reworked and now looks more alluring than ever after extensive eye surgery, a subtle receding hairline transplant, and—because standards matter—a fresh gel manicure.

Marilyn is surrounded by a border of the sorts of items that mattered to her—mini perfume bottles, including the classic Chanel No. 5 she is said to have loved, as well as miniature pill bottles and lotions that speak to her more troubled side.

My mosaic portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt is currently on loan at Roosevelt House, the Public Policy Institute at Hunter College, CUNY, in New York City, installed in the Four Freedoms Room alongside the restored portrait of Sara Delano Roosevelt.
I am sharing a newly revised professional photographs that finally captures the work as it lives in the space, seen in context and in conversation with history.

This is one of my favorite quotes from Eleanor:
“A woman is like a tea bag… you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water” — Eleanor

The Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College, located on East 65th Street in New York City, is a historic double townhouse built in 1905 by Sara Delano Roosevelt for her family. Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt lived there from 1908 to 1932, during a formative period that included FDR’s recovery from polio and early political career. Acquired by Hunter College in 1942, the house was restored and reopened in 2010 as a center for public policy and human rights.
I've been experimenting with Ai to create moving creations of my mosaics.
Check out creation titled, A Tribute to KAWS (he's a little shy!)
Or view the lady inside Édouard Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère pouring herself a beer…
